Reverse description The reverse bears a Cyrillic inscription in three lines reading АЛТЫННИКЪ (or variant spellings depending on die) with the date rendered as two digits in the lower field, separated by a small heraldic figure. Trefoil or floral ornaments punctuate the legend above and below, arranged symmetrically around the inscription. The lettering is boldly struck in a characteristic early eighteenth-century Cyrillic style, filling the field with minimal negative space. A beaded inner border frames the entire design.
