| Obverse description | The tughra of Sultan Mahmud II occupies the central field, rendered in ornate calligraphic style characteristic of the period. Floral sprays and rosette ornaments flank the tughra within an inner beaded circle. An outer decorative border of floral and foliate motifs encircles the entire design, separated from the inner beaded circle by additional ornamental elements. The overall composition is symmetrical and densely decorated in the Ottoman baroque manner. |
