Reverse description Central field features a plain cross pattee dividing the inner circle into four quadrants, each containing a small rosette or quatrefoil ornament. The cross and floral devices are contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend ET SARDINE REX, preceded by a cross, completes the royal title in conjunction with the obverse inscription. The composition is characteristic of Catalan-Aragonese denier typology as issued for the newly established Kingdom of Sardinia.
