Qaplan I Giray's first reign lasted only from 1707 to 1708 before the Ottomans removed him — a pattern that would repeat itself across four separate stints on the Crimean throne, an almost unparalleled record of deposition and reinstatement among Ottoman vassal rulers. The akçe itself was by this date a severely debased shadow of its former self, having collapsed in weight and fineness over the preceding century of Ottoman monetary deterioration.
KM#16 represents one of the thinner documented issues from this reign.
