| Reverse description | The reverse displays the Islamic declaration of faith (Shahada) arranged within a central square or rectangular compartment, with the names of the four Rightly Guided Caliphs — Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman, and Ali — positioned in the surrounding border panels, reading clockwise. The bold Kufic or early Naskh-style Arabic script fills the available field, with the legend compartmentalized in a manner consistent with Ilkhanid-influenced Ottoman coinage of the early 14th century. The border is formed by a series of small raised dots or a simple rope pattern typical of hammered silver issues. The flan edges are irregular and show the characteristic clipping of hand-cut silver blanks. |
