Beschrijving voorzijde Central field occupied by a dense multi-line Arabic legend in Thuluth or Naskh script, giving the name and titles of Khan Nur Devlet. The inscription fills the flan with characteristic Crimean Khanate calligraphic style, with no border or rim ornament visible on this hammered flan. The irregular planchet and flat relief are typical of mid-fifteenth-century Crimean silver coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Nur Devlet ruled the Khanate of Crimea twice — briefly in the 1460s and again in the 1470s — his reigns repeatedly interrupted by the dynastic turbulence that defined early Giray family politics. By 1467, the khanate was barely three decades removed from its founding under Haci I Giray, still consolidating independence from the disintegrating Golden Horde. Akçe coinage of this period followed the thin, compact Tatar flan tradition inherited from that Horde, struck at weights that had been steadily declining across the steppe monetary zone for generations.
