| Reverse description | Within a beaded border, the field carries a multi-line Arabic inscription recording the pious formula 'Azze Nasrühu' (May he be victorious), followed by the mint name and the accession year 1003 AH. The mint name, partially illegible on many specimens, varies according to the issuing workshop, as this type was struck at numerous mints across the Ottoman Empire. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers typical of Ottoman akçe coinage of this period. The beaded circle frames the text and defines the coin's design boundary. The striking is characteristic of hammered production, resulting in slight irregularities in legend placement. |
