| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription disposed in horizontal registers, containing the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) followed by the mint name and AH date. The legend is struck in cursive Arabic script consistent with early fifteenth-century Ottoman hammered silver technique. The mint name Amasya (Amaseia) and the Hijri date 808 appear in the lower register, identifying the place and year of issue. The flan is irregular and slightly off-center, as is typical of hammered akçe coinage of this period. |
