| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the Arabic legend of the pretender ruler in two lines, reading 'Sultan Cem son of Mehmed Khan,' rendered in a characteristic early Ottoman calligraphic style. The inscription is flanked by a scattering of pellets arranged around the field, a decorative device typical of Anatolian hammered silver coinage of this period. The flan is irregular and slightly undersized, consistent with hand-struck akçe production of the late fifteenth century. The legend is boldly engraved and occupies the majority of the coin's face, with no additional figural or geometric devices present. |
