Akçe - al-Ṣāliḥ Ṣāliḥ I Mardin mint

Al-Ṣāliḥ Ṣāliḥ ruled the Artuqid branch at Mardin during a period when the dynasty survived largely through careful vassalage — first under the Ilkhanids, then navigating the power vacuum left by their collapse in the 1330s and 1340s. By 1348, Mardin sat in genuinely uncertain territory, with the emerging Jalayirid sultanate pressing from the west and Turkmen confederacies consolidating around it. That the mint continued producing silver at all is itself a political statement about Mardin's residual autonomy.
