Ahmed II ruled for just four years, 1691–1695, and his reign was defined almost entirely by military collapse — most catastrophically the fall of Belgrade to Habsburg forces in 1688 (already lost before he acceded) and the ongoing disintegration of Ottoman positions in Hungary. The akçe by this period had been so thoroughly debased over the preceding century that its silver content was negligible, a shadow of the coin that had anchored Ottoman commerce since the fourteenth century.
The Damali reference G4a indicates a specific die grouping within a reign already thin on documented varieties.
