| Beschrijving keerzijde | Within a beaded circle, a multi-line Arabic legend in Ottoman script carrying a pious invocation and mint information, reading 'Azze Nasruhu Duriba bi Canca 1012 AH.' The inscription records the prayer 'May he be victorious,' followed by the mint city of Canca (Ganja, in present-day Azerbaijan) and the accession year 1012 AH (1603/1604 CE). The field inscription is neatly arranged in horizontal registers and enclosed by a beaded border, typical of Ottoman akçe coinage of this period. The hammered technique imparts slight asymmetry to the flan. |
