| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design features an elaborate ornate cross pattée with fleurs-de-lis terminations and a central rosette at the crossing, set within a double quadrilobe frame. In each of the four quarters formed by the cross arms, a rampant lion passant is depicted, representing the heraldic arms of Flanders. The quadrilobe is further embellished with Gothic foliage and decorative trefoil elements in the spandrels. The peripheral circular legend, punctuated by double saltire stops, carries the Christus Vincit inscription. The overall composition reflects the high Gothic artistic conventions of 14th-century Flemish numismatic craftsmanship. |
