Reverse description Caracalla, in military attire, mounted on horseback and advancing to the right, approaching a trophy erected on a base; at the foot of the trophy a seated captive is depicted in a posture of submission, while a second captive stands bound to the left of the trophy. To the left of the mounted emperor, Nike stands facing right, extending a wreath to crown Caracalla, symbolising imperial victory. The composition is a grand and elaborate military allegory celebrating the emperor's martial prowess, characteristic of the prestigious large-module civic bronzes struck by Mytilene under the Severan emperors. The magistrate's name and civic ethnic occupy the field and exergue in multiple lines of Greek script.
