| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of later Severan provincial coinage. The emperor's laurel wreath is rendered in fine detail, with the drapery of the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass adorned with pteryges at the lower edge. The Greek imperial titulature legend ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the bold, slightly idealized style characteristic of Lydian provincial bronzes of the Severan period. |
