Reverse description Standing confronted figures of the imperial princes: Caracalla, laureate, standing to the right and holding a long sceptre, faces Geta, laureate, standing to the left and holding a patera extended over a flaming altar placed between them. The composition is a dynastic allegory of harmony and succession, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage under the Severans. The reverse field is framed by the encircling Greek legend naming the local strategos responsible for the issue. The scene underscores the Severan dynastic programme as projected in the cities of Asia Minor.
