Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed from the rear, with the imperial paludamentum and scale-armor cuirass rendered in fine detail. The emperor's characteristic curly hair and short beard are clearly delineated, conveying the vigorous, martial image favored in his later reign. The Greek imperial titulature encircles the bust within a beaded border.
