The composition is a distinctive and rare iconographic type associating the Acrasian civic identity with the venerated Ephesian goddess, reflecting the religious and cultural connections of the region. The reverse legend, arranged around the design field, records the eponymous strategos under whose authority the issue was struck. The engraving displays the energetic provincial style typical of Pergamene conventus bronzes of the Severan period. |
