| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, seen from the rear, with elaborate military paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Pergamene conventus, with strong facial features and layered drapery. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek majuscules, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. |
