| Beschrijving keerzijde | Three neocorate temples represented side by side, each surmounted by a wreath. At left, a hexastyle temple with the letters ΑΥ on its pediment, enclosing a standing figure of Augustus facing right. At centre, a tetrastyle temple with ΑΝ on its pediment, housing a seated figure of Asclepius (assimilated to Caracalla) facing left, holding a serpent and sceptre. At right, a hexastyle temple with ΤΡ on its pediment, enclosing a standing figure of Trajan facing left. The composition commemorates Pergamum's triple neocorate status, honouring the three imperial cult temples dedicated to Augustus, Trajan, and Caracalla. The reverse legend in the field and exergue records the name of the local strategos responsible for the issue. |
