The effigy exhibits a powerful, broad-shouldered portrait characteristic of Maximinus, with the laurel wreath rendered in fine detail. The surrounding legend in Greek characters runs along the outer edge of the obverse field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portraiture reflects the bold, realistic style typical of provincial bronzes struck under Maximinus I. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Demeter standing left, head turned back in three-quarter view, holding a long torch in her right hand and ears of grain with poppy heads in her left. To her right stands the emperor, also facing left, holding a spear and extending a cantharus over a flaming altar placed at his feet, the gesture suggesting a sacrificial libation. A pelta shield appears to the left of the composition, adding a martial element to the religious scene. The figures are rendered in the robust, slightly schematic style characteristic of large-module Pergamene civic bronzes. The reverse legend in Greek encircles the design, naming the local strategos responsible for the issue and affirming Pergamum's privileged status as a three-time neocorate city. |
