| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two standing figures face one another in a symmetrical homonoïa composition. To the left, a bearded male figure personifying Pergamum — identified as Pergamos or the Demos — stands facing right, holding a statuette of Asclepius in one hand and a sceptre in the other. To the right, a youthful male figure representing Ephesus — possibly Androklos or the city's eponymous hero — stands facing left, holding a statuette of Artemis and a sceptre. The scene symbolises the alliance (homonoia) between Pergamum and Ephesus. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, names the strategos Publius Aelius Pompeianus and the joint civic entity of the Pergamenes and Ephesians. |
