| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted in three-quarter rear view, presenting the characteristic military portrait style favored in provincial coinage of the Severan period. | Reverse description | Demeter standing in a biga drawn by two serpents, advancing to the left, holding a flaming torch in each hand. The composition references the goddess's role as patron of grain and fertility, a common motif in the coinage of Erythrae and other Ionian cities. The figure is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Asia Minor civic bronzes of the Severan era. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, identifies the issuing city and the presiding magistrate. |
