| Reverse description | Cult statue of Zeus Lydios standing on a decorated base, facing, with head turned left, set beneath a tree; the deity holds an eagle in his outstretched hand and rests upon a tall sceptre. Before the statue stands a monumental altar adorned with a relief depicting three figures supporting the entablature. Atop the altar burns a blazing pyre flanked by four bulls' heads. The reverse legend, distributed around the field in Greek, records the name of the presiding archon and the double neocorate status of Sardis. |
