| 裏面の説明 | Veiled and stephanephoros Demeter seated left upon a basket (kalathos), her figure draped in flowing garments befitting the goddess of grain. She holds two ears of corn in one hand and a long torch in the other, attributes emblematic of her role as deity of the harvest and the Eleusinian Mysteries. The reverse field carries a lengthy Greek inscription recording the name and offices of the local agonothetes and lifelong priest Glykon, son of Demos, serving as magistrate, followed by the ethnic ΠΕΡΠΕΡΗ denoting the issuing city of Perperene. |
