Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial style characteristic of small Æ4 coinage. The legend DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG encircles the effigy, reading from the left field. The portrait, though small in module, conveys the conventional imperial iconography of the period, with the diadem visible above the brow. Heavy patination and surface wear have obscured finer details, consistent with a heavily circulated low-denomination bronze. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammered small bronzes of the fifth century.
