Obverse description Confronted laureate busts of co-emperors Marcus Aurelius (left) and Lucius Verus (right), both depicted with cuirass and paludamentum; Marcus Aurelius is distinguished by his characteristically long beard with extended curls. The busts face one another across the field in a dynastic pairing composition typical of joint-reign provincial coinage. A partial encircling legend in Greek letters naming both emperors runs along the outer border.
