Reverse description Zeus Laodiceus standing to the left in the central field, holding an eagle in his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his left; he is flanked on either side by one of the two Nemeses of Smyrna, each goddess standing frontally and plucking her chiton from her breast in the characteristic gesture of Nemesis. The composition celebrates the Homonoia — the formal concordance — between the cities of Laodicea ad Lycum and Smyrna, with the reverse legend distributed around the figures within a beaded border.
