Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of the Emperor Hadrian facing right, draped with paludamentum over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Pergamene conventus, with visible traces of the laurel wreath atop the head. The encircling Greek legend names the eponymous strategos Lesbonax in his second term of office, running around the periphery of the flan. The bust is boldly modelled and occupies the greater part of the field, consistent with the large-module civic bronze coinage of Lesbos.
