| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate, and bearded bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the naturalistic provincial style typical of Ionian civic coinage. The emperor's portrait displays carefully detailed hair and a full beard, consistent with his mature iconography. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy within a raised border, reading ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΙ ΑΙ ΑΔΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is broad and irregular, characteristic of large provincial bronze issues of the Antonine period. |
