The god holds a long sceptre in his left hand while a lighted altar appears to the right of the scene. The reverse legend names the presiding magistrate Zosimos and the ethnic of the issuing city. The iconography of the equestrian Zeus Panamaros is a hallmark of Stratoniceian civic coinage and reflects the importance of his famous sanctuary in the region. |

The magistrate name rendered here as ΠΡΟϹΙϹΤΟΥ is a garbled form of a Greek title, and the sic notation flags what appears to be a die-engraver's error or an orthographic peculiarity of the local mint rather than a modern transcription slip.
