| Beschrijving keerzijde | Confronted standing figures of Septimius Severus and Caracalla, each in military dress and laureate. Septimius Severus stands at right facing left, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left; Caracalla stands at left facing right, likewise holding a patera and sceptre, mirroring his father's pose. The symmetrical composition emphasises dynastic concordia and the joint authority of the Severan house. The reverse legend, distributed around the field in multiple lines, identifies the issuing authority as the city of Pergamum under the strategos Claudianus, son of Terpandros, and records the city's status as twice neocorate. |
