Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Philip I facing right, viewed from the front, with a gorgoneion applied to the centre of the cuirass and an aegis draped over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Severan-Philippan period, with bold, deeply cut facial features. The imperial titulature is inscribed in Greek characters around the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description The emperor is depicted on horseback, riding to the left, with his right hand raised in a gesture of adlocution or salute; the horse is shown at a walking or prancing pace. The composition is a classic equestrian type widely employed on provincial bronzes to emphasise imperial authority and military prowess. The Greek reverse legend, naming the local archon Timaios and the civic ethnic of Dorylaeum, is distributed around the circumference of the flan, with a partial inscription visible in the lower exergual area.
