Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius, draped in cuirass and paludamentum, facing right and seen from the rear, with a long beard rendered in flowing curls characteristic of his mature portraiture. The emperor's effigy is presented in the heroic military fashion typical of provincial coinage from Asia Minor, with finely modelled drapery folds visible across the shoulder and chest. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative case, framing the bust within a dotted border.
