| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal view, wearing a decorated breastplate adorned with figural motifs and an aegis on the shoulder. The imperial effigy is executed in the high-relief provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic coinage of the Severan period. The obverse legend encircles the bust, naming the emperor in the nominative Greek form. |
