| Descrizione del dritto | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, with the paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The imperial effigy is portrayed in the typical provincial style of the Conventus of Miletus, with careful attention to the laurel wreath and military dress. The encircling Greek legend occupies the outer field. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is characteristic of large provincial bronzes of this period, and the surface shows the heavy patination typical of coins from Asia Minor. |
