Obverse description Confronted busts of Caracalla and Geta, both laureate, draped, and cuirassed: Caracalla's bust faces right and is seen from the front at left, while Geta's bust faces left and is seen from the front at right. The legend encircles the field, identifying both emperors by name and titles. The jugate or confronted arrangement emphasizes the co-imperial status of the two Severan princes. The busts are rendered in the characteristic provincial die-cutting style of the Ephesian mint, with careful attention to imperial regalia.
