Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from the rear, with a circular shield or gorgoneion visible at the lower right of the field. The legend encircles the effigy along the outer border, rendered in Greek characters. Reverse description Artemis standing left, wearing a kalathos and veiled, her figure draped, holding a patera over a stag at her feet and a bow in her other hand; to her right stands Apollo, also facing left, holding a stag and a bow. The two deities are presented as the divine patrons of Miletus, in a composition typical of Ionian provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. The Greek legend is distributed around the field, referencing the local magistrate.
