| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Panamaros, the principal dynastic deity of Stratonicea, depicted on horseback advancing to the right, his figure draped and holding a long sceptre in his left hand. A lighted altar appears to the right of the composition, referencing the sacred cult centre of Panamara near Stratonicea. The scene is set within a circular Greek legend naming the presiding magistrate (archon) and the ethnic of the issuing city. The reverse typology reflects the deep local religious significance of Zeus Panamaros, a motif well attested on Stratonicea's provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
