Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, portrayed from the rear, displaying the elaborate pteryges of the cuirass and folds of the paludamentum. The emperor's youthful effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Carian civic coinage, with a laurel wreath crowning the head. The surrounding Greek legend is partially visible along the upper border of the flan.

Reverse description The celebrated cult statue of Aphrodite of Aphrodisias stands facing right in the central field, rendered in the distinctive columnar, frontally-draped form unique to this sanctuary. The goddess is flanked by two Erotes, while two decorative swags are suspended in the upper field. To the left, a priestess is depicted seated facing right, with a star visible in the upper left field; to the right appears a fountain or architectural element, with a crescent in the upper right field, underscoring the religious and civic symbolism of the city.
