| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Larasios, the principal deity of Tralles, is depicted seated left on a throne, extending a Nike in his right hand and holding a long sceptre in his left. Opposite him stands Athena, facing right, armed with a spear and with a shield resting at her feet, in a composition that emphasises the civic and religious identity of the city. The two divine figures occupy the full field in a monumental facing arrangement typical of large-module Trallian bronzes. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, records the names of the local magistrates responsible for the issue. A plain border frames the design. |
