Pergamum's civic bronze issues of this period were struck under the authority of a local magistrate — the strategos named in the obverse legend — whose office carried responsibility for organizing and funding the mint. The partially preserved legend referencing Aristeus places this among a small, identifiable group tied to his term. The Β in the right field is a denomination or series marker used within Pergamum's internal bronze hierarchy, a system that allowed the city to circulate multiple coin sizes simultaneously without confusion at the market level.
