Reverse description Two deities standing facing one another and clasping hands over a lighted altar placed at center. To the left, a nude heroic male figure identified as Perseus stands with his back partially turned to the viewer, holding the harpa (curved ritual sword) in his right hand. To the right, Artemis stands facing left, her quiver visible at her shoulder, holding her bow; both figures are rendered in a classicizing style characteristic of Lydian provincial coinage. The reverse legend naming the strategos Menodoros and the civic ethnic of Hierocaesarea is distributed around the field.
