Tralles, a prosperous city in the Maeander valley, was one of the most active provincial minting centers in the conventus of Ephesus during the third century. The magistrate named in this issue — Philetos — appears in a small cluster of known dies from the Gordian III period, suggesting a relatively concentrated burst of civic minting under his authority rather than a sustained program. Provincial bronzes of this size and weight from Tralles are well documented in the series but individual magistrate attributions remain important for reconstructing the mint's administrative sequence.
