Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in detail at the truncation. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, executed in the provincial style characteristic of the Lydian conventus. A circular Greek legend runs along the outer border, framing the portrait within a beaded or cable rim.
