| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, presenting the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the articulated plates of the cuirass. The legend encircles the bust in Greek characters around the periphery of the flan. The strike is somewhat uneven on the irregular flan, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of the period, and a later suspension hole is pierced near the upper rim. |
