| 背面描述 | Hecate standing facing, head turned to left, wearing a kalathos (basket crown), holding a patera in one hand and a torch in the other, with a lighted altar positioned at her feet. The depiction of Hecate in her single form, rather than the more common triple-bodied representation, is consistent with local Carian cultic traditions, as Stratonicea was an important center of Hecate worship. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, records the name of the local magistrate responsible for the coin's issue. The rendering of the goddess and the altar is characteristic of the high Severan provincial bronze style. |
