Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, viewed from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and segmented cuirass detail rendered in the provincial style. The imperial effigy is rendered in high relief with characteristic portraiture of the mid-third century, displaying a strong jawline and prominent brow. The encircling Greek legend runs along the beaded border of the flan. The obverse die work reflects the civic workshop tradition of Lydian Blaundus, with bold if somewhat rough engraving typical of large-module provincial bronzes of this reign.
