| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius, laureate, facing left and viewed from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of Carian civic coinage, with careful attention to the imperial diadem of laurel. The obverse legend, partially preserved, reads ΑΥΤΟ ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡ ΑΥΡΗ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature in Greek. The field surrounding the effigy is plain, typical of mid-Antonine provincial bronzes from Asia Minor. |
