| 背面描述 | Zeus Laodiceus stands facing left at centre upon a pedestal or base, holding an eagle in his right hand and a long sceptre in his left. He is flanked by two togate imperial figures — identified as Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus — standing and facing one another: the figure to the right holds a scroll, while the figure to the left holds a patera, symbolising the joint reign and civic piety. The composition reflects the dynastic propaganda of the co-emperors and the prominent local cult of Zeus at Laodicea. The reverse legend naming the proconsul Poplius Pedon frames the scene. |
